Respect, independence, responsibility, potential, and critical thinking are the five words behind every day at The Montessori School of Hamilton. They appear in the freedom a child feels, in the calm order of each classroom, and in the way adults speak to children as capable people.

The Children's House is an all-day, extensive enrichment program for children from infancy through age six. Full-time and part-time programs are available, and expertly trained Montessori teachers use a method that prepares children for the challenges they will face tomorrow. Children choose their work from a carefully prepared room and practice concentration with hands-on materials, so the school day feels both free and purposeful.
The youngest children are cared for in a warm, secure setting where trust grows and early discovery begins.
Toddlers practice language, movement, and independence in a room scaled to their growing capabilities.
This is the full Children's House cycle, where children deepen concentration and take on increasingly complex materials.
The school sits in a quiet, safe neighborhood in the heart of Hamilton Township, just minutes from Interstates 195 and 295. The facility is inviting and easy to reach for families throughout the area.
The large outdoor playground and an indoor playroom mean children can enjoy active play all year round, no matter the weather.
A creative, dedicated staff pours its energy into the continual development and implementation of our curriculum, shaping each classroom into a world of opportunity and a genuinely joyful place to be.

Children choose work from the prepared environment, so learning follows their own interest.
Each child progresses without pressure to keep up with anyone else.
Teachers learn to observe children, prepare the classroom, and present lessons at the right moment.
Each child is taught individually, so lessons match their readiness.
A child remains in an age community long enough for learning to take root and deepen.
Lessons are timed to natural windows when a child is most receptive to a new skill.
Hands-on materials make abstract ideas concrete and inviting.
Younger children learn from older classmates, while older children grow through helping.
We believe each child is unique and follows a natural pathway of development. Preschool can enrich the social, cognitive, emotional, and physical parts of that growth all at once. As toddlers enter these important years, they need to be challenged; children are vulnerable, but curiosity prevails. Our job is to capture that curiosity and channel it in a way that benefits the child. Montessori classrooms are prepared solely with the child in mind. Age-appropriate activities draw on a child's innate desire to learn, and that inner drive is the basis of Montessori principles and methods. When children are free to explore and discover by themselves, they become independent learners in a safe and happy atmosphere. Even a couple of hours of preschool a week can make a dramatic difference in a child's life.
