The Montessori School of Hamilton’s parent referral program is our way of showing appreciation to the families who refer their friends and loved ones to our school. We honor and value those families. Upon enrollment, each family receives a parent referral form with referral vouchers to pass along. If you don’t have a voucher, simply ask your friends or family to tell us they were referred by you, and we’ll make sure they receive a Parent Referral Voucher with your family’s information during their visit.

In selecting a Montessori school, each family has to consider how well it fits — not only between the child and the school, but also between the parents and the school. We understand that asking parents to make a commitment without being absolutely sure this is what they want for their child is a difficult decision. That is why we offer a probationary period for each new family to enroll without becoming totally obligated to the conditions of the financial commitment. It gives each parent a chance to see how well the school matches their sense of values and goals for their child’s well-being and education.

The best way to determine which school is right for you and your child is through close personal observation. Don’t rely on hearsay from other parents — the school one family raves about may be totally wrong for your own. Rely on your own experience and trust your eyes, ears, and gut instincts. You should find yourself in harmony with the school’s ambiance and practice. While you become familiar with the Montessori approach, your child does too.

The Montessori School of Hamilton is a private school offering a high-quality, superior early childhood educational experience. The terms of commitment ensure that families who choose the Montessori method are as serious about the educational approach they choose for their children as we are. Because the multiage classroom is built on a three-year cycle, each child’s placement is critical to the balance and continuity of the class. Each child benefits the class in their own unique way. When a child is withdrawn early without finishing the cycle, their growth and development are disrupted and the class is left out of balance. Many learning processes depend on the interaction of the different age groups, which is why each placement will ultimately become a permanent one. Each parent should be absolutely certain this is what they want for their child. We do allow a trial period for every family who places in the program — just enough time for each child to become familiar with and accustomed to it. We assess his or her development and overall progress while ensuring the balance and continuity of the class as a whole. For parents concerned about the impact on their child, don’t be alarmed: new children enter on a staggered schedule over a four-week period. During that time children become accustomed to one another, but not enough to truly affect a child’s development if that child were to leave. The time span is short enough that they would have met a faint friend soon to fade away, not keeping it in their memory for very long. In the event of a family’s withdrawal before the commencement of the probationary period, for whatever reason, they will not be obligated to the terms and conditions of the financial commitment to the school. However, the trial month’s tuition, the application fee, and the security deposit for the program your child would have had placement in are non-refundable.
